Hi Guys

I've only been cycling since Feb and using a 25 year old mtb, which I bought as a teen. Been a gap of about 15 years since cycling. For my 25 mile round trip, I've been wearing my Ron Hill Tracksters (i'm a marathon runner), but I've worn the Ar$e out of two pairs already. Don't fancy the padded gear, but I would welcome any suitable suggestions.

But the padded gear is much more comfortable and durable

If you're not keen on the skin-tight look, go for Endura Humvee shorts. They have a removeable padded undershort with a baggy short over the top.

Maybe your seat causing damage , I have used ronhill tracksters for at least a few thousand miles and they are still fine , if the saddle has stiitching this can cause premature wear , I holed a pair of bib tights in a week because of stitching on the saddle .

The same problem for me with both cotton and poly cotton.

Go man made and you should be fine. I've some ultra light travel trousers that are 100% nylon still with zero sign of wear apart from stitching coming undone.

Thanks for your replies guys. Saddle height is fine, but it is old and could be the problem.
