Ok, so the background is that I have a press fit BB90 in my frame, with a shimano ultegra hollowtech II crank.

I wish to run a sram gxp crank.

Solution 1: My current solution is to replace the BB90 bottom bracket with a BB86. The tools are very expensive (£60ish for both it would seem) and it would cost me £25 for the BB86 and appro £15 to get a shop to do it.

Ideally, I would enjoy the flexibility to easily swap between the shimano crank and the sram crank (the shimano is a compact, the sram is a double - I both race and have a 1000km audax coming up).

Solution 2 (preferred method): My understanding is that the axel width for shimano cranks is 24mm, and for sram it is 24mm one side, 22mm the other. Therefore surely somebody, somewhere has designed a simple shim for the sram crank, to be used on just one side. The acquisition of said shim would save a lot of money and time - does anybody know of it's existance?

Solution 3: Can I dismantle a gxp bottom bracket from another cheaper bottom bracket, take out the bearing, and place this bearing in the BB90 bottom bracket?
