Bottom Bracket

I took out my bottom bracket this afternoon to see what numbers it had on it. It is a UN52 and the numbers on it are BC 1.37 x 24. I have measured the unit and it comes out at 68 x 127, so isn't a problem replacing it when needed, but I am wondering what the figures on the BB mean as I haven't come across them before.

Slightly OT, but, can anyone advise me whether my Mercian (2001 vintage) has a left or right-hand threaded left hand cup? It was ten years ago that I put it in and never have had the need to take it out since...

Left hand cup is always right hand thread. RH cup is likely to be left hand thread on a Mercian (I would imagine)
