Bottom bracket thread type

Whats all this nonsense about English and Italian threads for a bottom bracket?

I have a sealed Campagnolo Veloce bb fitted to a cannondale. How do you tell the difference? Is there some sort of code on the bb at all?

Proper black hole in my knowledge...
