Bottom bracket (SRAM Powerspline) advice please.

I recently brought an second mtb and I have notice that that bottom bracket on the non drive side is not cover compare to the drive side. Been out for a ride and all the muck are getting wedge in there. Is this normal or can I purchase some kind of cover to fit it.
