Hi All,

I need to replace a Shimano BB UN52 68 with a campagnolo compatable one.

Any suggestions. Im looking second hand but dont know what im really looking for. I do not know what cranks im going with, i guess it depends on the BB?

You need to get the cranks first - they will need a certain sized axle (this can vary between cranks).

I might have something in the shed (Mirage square taper) - I'll pm you tomorrow.

Yeah, i need a new crankset / bb set up to work with campy shifters and derailleurs with a 9 speed campy rear casette, i do not mind what it is, i just need it to fit where the above bottom bracket was removed from. My only previous bb experience was a 1960s raleigh, and as you know this is worlds apart.

for example, will this work:
FSA Omega Crankset Compact with Bottom Bracket

Rings : 50/34T
Crank arm length : 170mm
Including Bottom bracket BB-AL86 dia 19 B3044.

Basically Campagnolo has the bearings attached to the cranks so you just need the cups. They are either Italian or English thread.

Shimano/SRAM have the bearings attached to the cups and you just thread the axle through - again Eng or It.

You would really need to see a pair to appreciate what is going on.

See a pair! sounds like a joke

I have been trying to research it but info is thin on the ground. It seems you either buy the set or need to know whats happening. I have seen some FSA sets which seem to ne campag style in BB on the cranks. I just need to get hold of anything at the moment.

Dawes Ultra Galaxy Bottom Bracket Sugino failed

The BB has failed on my Galaxy Ultra 2010 but I'm having problems finding a sugino as fitted but I don't think the BB was a sealed unit and grit has got in so thinking of changing any way do you think a shimano XT/XTR will fit, or is there a better option ?

The Campag shifters will work with almost any double or triple chainset. The BB will depend on the chainset, as will the front mech.
