I accidentaly overtightened my bolt on my road bike which stops the bars from moving out of place (not the stem bolt) and it snapped into two, i have a new bolt but the other half is stuck in the thread (the bottom half of the bolt so no allen slot) any ideas how to get it out?

Thanks

Is there enough of the head sticking out to cut a slot and use a screwdriver?
And please try waiting more than two minutes before bumping a thread next time...

Not enough room for that, i have 4 cables in the way and there is not enough room, anything a drill could do?

Single bolt quill stem?

Well it's stuck in there, to extract it you will have to drill a hole in the remains of the bolt and then use a piece of kit called a screw extractor.

ON this occasion there is no bodge or quick fix as the eye of the quill stem stops you getting at the bolt with a mole grip, it would be cheaper and quicker to get another stem.

I am not sure how you managed it, you would have to tighten it so much to do that you run the risk of deforming the clamping section of the bars as well.
