Boardman Lotus

I was at Birmingham's Think Tank science museum type place at the weekend with Mrs JP and JP junior and much to my delight there was a Boardman Lotus hanging up for me to dribble over.

Now given the age and infamy of the bike and the fact that we've seen squillions of intimate pictures of the thing why on earth was a 'no photography sign' next to it and when I kinda sneakily got the old phone out to take a snap did the curator type person give me a stern talking to?

I was reading the hour last night and in that Hutchison was going on about how many so called 'original' lotus bike there are.

I remember that quote too, I recall that they were knocked out by the lorry load once they became UCI illegal and that there are a fair few in the USA being used as Tri bikes where the design rukes are a little less stringent.

pah, graham obree's 'old faithful' is there not only for the eye to see and photograph, but you can actually touch it too. floor 6 of the national museum of scotland, edinburgh.
