Boardman CX Front Mech cable

My front mech cable has started to fray quite badly where it connects to the Microshift front deraileur. Rather than wait for it to fail I'm looking at changing it out. Has anyone out there done this already? Is it an easy job? Any cable recommendations?

Yes, very easy job. Just ask your LBS for a new cable - he'll probably give you a stock Shimano one. You'll need one of the little end caps too and a means of cutting the excess off it neatly once it is installed.

Rather than buy a cable cutter I use a pair of good pliers (that have the little 'knife section) and then use a G clamp to close the pliers carefully to cut the cable - works really well.
