Hi, I live in NI and tho we have a few Halfords, there are none with the Boardman carbon bikes as part of normal stock. Have only seen these bikes ( namely Carbon Pro ) online. Anyone any experience of these bikes ? Anyone own one ? Any comments most welcome.

They seem to always get good reviews in cycling magazines but I have no direct experience myself - they appear to offer good value for money, but just being linked to Halfords puts a lot of people off!

She does get to ride the 'interesting' bikes. Raleigh and Boardman not really in the same bling market that some of our male pro riders get as their bikes.

Well, I have a Canadian wife and she was most keen that I support Canadian (tiawanese) industry. But, I accept that the comment that I could have bought a cheaper sportive bike that achieved the same benefit.

They look nice
They get good reviews
They're probably made in the same factory as most other carbon frames
They are good value for money

So its all good imo

Apart from, you have to buy them from Halfords

some of the kit doesn't look very inspiring. 'Sealed bearings' doesn't tell you a lot. In the end you're getting a cheap carbon frame with some stuff on it that you may not want to keep.

Do you get to choose your own cassette sizes?

Are you sure none of the stores have one? Im nearly 100% sure that the Belfast branch on Boucher road has one on display. Might be worth giving them a call
