Hi there
I’ve currently got a Giant Defy 2 road bike which I love – aluminium frame and carbon forks. I've got it on the Cyclescheme. I know that “they” say you should then progress to an all carbon bike but I was in Evans cycles at the weekend and seen this:

Its on sale and it’s a really lovely looking bike. My Giant Defy 2 is currently on the Cyclescheme through work but I can get the BMC bike through their interest free option. What are your thoughts? Am I being silly and would I just be buying more or less the exact same bike?

I'd buy something different personally. Sora doesn't seem like much of an upgrade. What do you have currently?

What groupset? Tiagra? If so I'd see that as a step back. Better to upgrade current bike. Or get something different, steelie, single speed, carbon, MTB, CX

Oh and there's no real reason to progress to carbon, just another frame material ;)

Hi there

I'm still thinking about buying this bike

https://www.evanscycles.com/bmc-tea...RHS&utm_content=Product#/modal__finance-modal

This would be in addition to my Giant Defy 2 which is this one:

https://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-gb/bikes/model/defy.2/24964/90519/

Now I know that the BMC bike would be a step backwards in terms of groupset, etc but I do like the bike and I'm seriously considering buying it - I would put Continental Gatorskin Hardshell tyres on it and SPD pedals like I have on my Giant Defy 2. What I want to ask is: my Giant Defy 2 is a small frame size 46.5 - does that mean I would be better going for the small size (47cm) on the BMC bike?
