Is this a sound idea?

I am thinking about the plastic thing that attaches to the underside of the bottom bracket through which the gear wires pass. As the one I have for my hack build looks as though it will move around a bit, as it's screw is slightly narrower than the hole in the underside of the BB.

Or perhaps a spot of Mastik around the screw may help or maybe some form of glue?

Might be worth trying to get the correct position, but there must be better ways. Nothing to lose (bar the blutac)
Try a sliver of plastic Rawlplug to secure the screw ?

Thanx for the last two replies.

Now I just need to think about what block to use and and whether to just use a WD40 rag to clear the inner tubing for the post and stem for today.

If you lose the plastic thingy completely, try just using a short piece of outer gear cable (4" to 5 ") under the BB. Worked for me a long time ago, but may have been in the pre indexing era.

I wouldn't use blutack, glue, sugru, mastick or tape. The screw is self-tapping. Find a slighter larger calibre self tapping screw; but it must not be any longer than the inadequate original (may foul BB).
