Blue module on pro Tour bikes ?

Spotted this whilst watching the Paris-Nice this weekend... what is the blue thing hanging under the left chainstay ?
It's not a speed sensor as that's on the front forks (along with the magnet).

Is it a GPS tracker or timing chip or something ?

It's a chip, records as the rider goes through sprint lines, KOM, Finish. Not for placing - that's photo finish - but confirms prescence in a group and helps timing.

That's quite odd, they usually use gps/powermeters rather than the usual magnets/sensors.

Cadence is down by powermeters in the cranks, the blue module is used by officials, as explained above.
