I find these structures useful for dodging showers.

I have no idea what they are though.

Might I recommend the Weather Timeline app? Scarily accurate hour-by-hour forecasting . V useful for deciding whether or not to put washing out, go out for run now or wait a bit, and figuring out if it's a ten minute shower or a half-day deluge.

It threw it down with hail on my ride, I tried hiding under a leaf. It did not work. Forecasters suggested a light shower, the buggers.

The forecasts for Devon have been spot on this week... not that it's delivered us the weather I'd have liked at all times, but the bands of rain have been predicted days before, and have arrived pretty much on cue.

The forecast is often terrible here; this weekend was typical. On Friday Sunday was showery, heavy at times. On Saturday they revised the forecast to dry but grey. Today (Sunday) I woke up to blue skies.

Yesterday morning I got my ride done in the dry, yesterday afternoon I'd just got the extension and vac out the back and started to vac out the inside of the car when it chucked it down and I had to scramble inside with the vac and extension, ten minutes later and the sun was shining again.
