I nearly had an off today as the struts from my SKS commuter mudguard parted company from the guard and caused me to skid. This is the third SKS mudguard to snap on me. It's always been as a result of a foreign object (like a bit of mud) getting caught in between the tyre and the guard. I'm prepared to give SKS one more go, or should I be looking at something else?

I nearly crashed today so needs sorting.

I have a hybrid with slick tyres and do a bit of offroading (across the common) on my commute.

Cheers all

Shouldn't do. I've had a set fitted to my fixed for 20 months now without issue. Are you using the 'snap' connectors which allow the stays to pop off from the mount in case something get's stuck between tyre and guard ?
