Does anyone else have routes where you are considerabley faster than motorists?
I'm not talking about the obvious places where traffic is ground to a halt and you can filter passed, I mean "open" bits of road.
For example -
A section of road back from my GFs village, it goes through the village with a 30mph limit, which I can keep up with just fine, then it goes on a straight bit leading to a National speed limit, which drops down a lovely bit of hill that sweeps left, then hooks left again before a small bit of flat leading to a climb again.
On the straight I take a very clear primary as it really isn't safe for someone to pass, which for a few hundred yards seems to piss off some motorist, but I know what's coming. As the hill starts to drop you of course pick up speed, when the sweeping left starts I'm normally at about 37mph, as it exits that left I've been hitting 43ish quite comfortabley, due to the bend in the road most cars can't take it nearly as fast (noticed my misses has to slow to about 30 in the car), being on a skinny vehical you can more or less apex the whole series of bends.
It's rather satisfying, and I've never felt like I was pushing my luck, on a cycle you can see far enough ahead to see if you'll need to slow etc.
Anyone else have nice bits of a route like this?
