A friend in the UK has just asked what I'd recommend for a six-year-old, mostly for riding to school, friends et c, and maybe the odd 20k at weekends.
I've lived in Germany for longer than I lived in the UK now, so I haven't a clue who makes and sells suitable bikes there, or even what you would expect to pay for such a thing. He lives in the north Birmingham area and will happily go to a bike recycling charity if one is in the area.
