At long last, I've finally started to build the Roubaix I bought from someone on this very forum. Fitting a 9 speed cassette to an 11 speed hub left me needing a spacer, so I ended up at Bikes & Buddies in Chertsey. Whilst I've passed them often, I've never been in. Most of their extensive Kona range is actually on display outside, so after a mooch and potential +1's, I asked if they had Shimano spacers in stock. Unfortunately not, but can order for you was the response, so I thanked and advised will call after trying another LBS. Whilst eying up one of their CX machines outside on the way back to the car, their mechanic popped out and offered a couple of used spacers found in the workshop. Any payment was refused as he couldn't charge for used parts.
