Hi, me and a group of friends are looking to do the sandstone way on MTB’s, while we will be stopping in b&b’s I am looking for a large saddle bag to carry some clothes etc

Can anyone recommend any bags that are more budget friendly from the likes of temu etc?

Carradice, Low saddle Longflap/or Longflap. I've had one of these and it was massive. Get a secondhand one off Ebay or here etc.

I have some rockbros kit and it's been ok. It does tend to rock the bike a bit though compared to a carridice style bag..

Good idea stopping at b&b, if only for the showers :-)
I take two, separate bags, which ‘quick release’ from the rack. Left one for mechanical stuff and dirty clothing, right one for food, drink and off-bike wear. The top of the rack is for the bike lock and ‘forage net’, to hold off & ons.
While the bags are advertised as ‘shower proof’, I use plastic bags to keep stuff separated and dry.

I’d second . . .second hand bags - have a word with your local bike collective.
Good luck!

For my upcoming trip i will use a Aldi roll top bag fastened on rear rack with Rocstraps . Right shape for the rack and waterproof and can get everything in a medium. I think it might have been £10 but available all over.
