I gave up with Bikely - it is always painfully slow at best. I had the same issue that you had a few weeks ago and it resolved itself after I left it a few hours. Use BikeHike!!

Slightly OT, but what do people reckon is the best route mapping website?

I have an issue with altitude numbers quoted e.g my commute to work gets 290 ft of climbing from bikemap.net, 443ft from biketoaster.com and a whopping 689 ft from bikehike.co.uk. That's quite a difference over 15 miles!!!

What do you all use, and how much do you trust the numbers?

I thought Bikely was gone, to be honest. I used to use it (years ago) then just gave up when I couldn't get onto it again. I've just been uploading my rides to Garmin Connect. I don't have a Garmin Edge, so I can't plan routes in advance and download them onto it.

Does anyone know if any of the cycling specific sites will take the calories burned information from the Garmin and report it by lap? (I know of a running site that does that, but it doesn't give much cycle specific information, and it's all presented in a bit of a mess.) It obviously isn't something that's hugely important, but I love looking at ride data, and I'd find it fascinating.

I'm really really really hoping that BikeHike does massively exaggerate altitudes given that's what I've used to map my impending LEJoG!!

Quick, map it out with bikemap. It will all become much more manageable then

Puzzle game procrastinator!
Bikely used to be really slow and their technical people took ages to address the problem, but eventually they found out what the problem was and fixed it.

Unfortunately, the site has now hit the 'endstops' and capacity needs to be upgraded. They are working on that now.

When it is working properly, I quite like the site, though I found the route profile option unreliable and slow. That wasn't a deal-breaker for me because I always plot the routes on my own software first and then upload them to share.
