To say I'm new to the whole road cycling game, I have just bid and won a bikehut 16 function cycle computer from eBay!!!! Brand new and never opened £5.05 free postage!

I don't even get my first road bike until tomorrow

I still can't think for the life of me why I bid on it......will I actually need it? Will I actually even bother to attach it to to bike? Ef knows.

Knowing how far you have ridden or for how long is worth a fiver. Whenever I look at my watch before I set off, I quickly forget. I cycle on a disused railway line sometimes and there is a very slight gradient. You don't notice it by sight but it takes me 45 mins one way and 30 mins back. I'd love to know how far it is. Just a bit of fun.

At this time of year, probably a temperature guage would be useful and a wind chill factor function!

I use 2 apps on my Iphone, strava and mapmyride, these are great and are very addictive, both map your route and give you total times, avg speed of total ride avg speed per mile, speed vs gradient I like them, the battery seems to last too but Ive really only been out at any one time for max 2:10/28 miles

Well worth the 5 er mate I use my phone for strava but the screen doesn't stay on so the computer is great for a quick speed/distance check also as it's been on the bike from new I know exactly how far the bike has been so will be a good gauge for when components need changing of how long they lasted because sometimes people forget to press record on strava but not me I'd never forget to do that the last 2 times I've been out ;) lol
