Hi, Just to give a conclusion not that its fitted in case anyone else comes across this thread looking for similar info...
It all went on quite easily, mountings for the computer and wheel sensor can either be by using o-rings or cable ties. I used the o rings as they allow for chaning the position while setting up and getting thing just so. I will probably change them to cable ties once I am sure the position are OK, though Im going to have to cut some rubber off an old inner-tube to use between the cable tie and the forks as I wouldnt want them digging in to the paint! One point to note is that it only starts to display speed information after about seconds, so when you first install it give it a little time with the wheel spinning before you check! Also, the touch sensitive button seems to be more reliabloe if you swipe you finger over it, like on the fingerprint readers on thinkpad laptops than if you just push it.
The cadence sensor is wired and needs to be routed down to the lower rear seat stay. I had about 12 inches of extra cable so I had to wrap it around the bottom bractet a few times and secure with a few cable ties.
After a short test ride it all seemed to be working as it should, and I think having the cadence will be good for training. One feature I like is it will tell you iff you are going faster or slower than your average.
One of the shortfalls is that having so many funtions takes a while to scroll through them all. It would have been good if it had a few buttons on the side that you could set to specific functions, such as a buttom for cadence, a button for odometre and a button to scoll.
But all in all im happy with it for £12 from
ebay, would probably feel OK about paying £30 from
Halfords too.
Will get some pics up when I have chance.
