Am I being dense?! I can't see the ability to save routes anywhere. I've mapped my LEJoG ride on bikely but the site is so painfully slow I want to re-map it using Bikehike.

In the Mapping Controls box, use the Download Route option to save, and the Upload Route option to re-open.

There was a liability issue some while ago..... if someone downloaded and used a route on the site, then had an accident, was the site liable for the advice it had "given"

As a result the "Save" feature allowing you to retain your route on the site was disabled. Download as above

# Jan 2010: Closure of Route Database
I have received legal advice that, in spite of any disclaimer on this site, there is no guarantee against possible litigation as a result of having routes assessible via this website.

As a private individual I am not prepared to expose myself to this risk (however small) and therefore have reluctantly taken the decision to close the bikehike route database.

For a start the facility to save routes to the database has been closed. In the near future I will also close the facility to search for routes in the database. In the meantime I suggest all users download their routes to their PCs.

I apologise for the inconvenience caused. I hope you can appreciate the reasons.
