Join us for Bike Zambia, a touring ride from Lusaka (the capital of Zambia) to Victoria Falls (in Livingstone), one of the 7 natural wonders of the world.
The ride raises money for organizations that fight HIV/AIDS and provide resources to empower women and girls. We support World Bicycle Relief (that provides bikes to people to get to school and work, as well as health care providers to see more patients quickly), Grassroot Soccer, which provides funding for soccer tournaments and practices to for kids to do HIV testing and HIV education. Lastly, an organization called Zambian Health and Education Trust that works with high risk populations, working to combat infectious disease.
The tour goes 325 miles in 7 days and we visit the organizations we support along the way. It is really a transformative and unique experience. 20 or so people participate in the ride annually. We work with a touring company, who provides us with mountain bikes, all meals, and arranges camping/lodges (depending where we are). We see amazing wildlife along the way and meet extraordinary people and organizations.
If you are interested, you can email me at beth at chooda dot org. Or see our website at www.gobikezambia.org Thanks so much - registration closes on March 1.
