Bike storage at school.

My daughters school has got some money to spend on their transport plan (about 5k), and they want to improve their cycling facilities. And all their other transport needs are pretty much sorted, so it looks like I'm in with a good chance of getting the stuff I (as the only all weather cycling parent ) need.

I'm really hoping that someone on CC, maybe the commuting bunch have had to source similar kit and may be able to save me a few hours research.
Also, to point out anything I've missed /pitfalls /things to avoid etc.

The two things they (I... ) need are :

-A shelter of some kind..(don't want the Isla bike getting rusty through the winter:biggrin:), with something to lock bikes to.

-Somewhere to store all the cycling paraphenalia...helmets, boots etc...Also to hang wet muddy waterproofs so that they dry between school runs.

At the moment I have to cart all that stuff away home again in my rucksack, which is a pain. And a definate block to more people cycling in.
I'm lucky - I work from home, so it'd not such a big deal for me, but for someone who is going straight on to work, it just doesn't work.

I've got a meeting on Monday to plead my case, so any suggestions before then would be great.

Thanks!

Have a look here for some ideas

To bear in mind.. some storage solutions are ones where the wheel of the bike is wedged into a metal 'V' space. This sort of thing http://www.nobutts.co.uk/products.asp?productGroup=4002 I don't like those as they can bend wheels and there is precious little to attach a bike frame to in terms of locking. Much better are the type with sheffield stands, the metal 'n' shapes that you lean your bike to and then lock, such as this http://www.nobutts.co.uk/products.asp?productGroup=4004 and then the various forms of structure to keep the elements off the bikes, or even in a lockable compund.

We have mini-Sheffields in our school in a bus shelter type structure. No idea where they came from or how much the were but I could ask.
