Hey everyone,

I know this comes across as probably quite stupid but I got a new bike recently and the back tyre has been punctured and I am unsure what size inner tube to buy to replace it with.

I'm just not understanding all the numbers that go along the tyre and inner tube which is flat.
Here are some pictures to help, I am UK based and looking to replace them as I use my bike to commute to work and back.

Would anybody be able to tell me what inner tube I need to buy?

Thanks,
Martin

take your old inner tube to the bike shop and ask for the same size, looks like 700c tyres.

700 x 35-42 inner tube will be the one you want.
Or, if the numbers 35-42 aren't the ones on the tube you find, go for one which includes your tyre width (42C). Your existing one is 35-43. The higher and lower numbers are the range for the tyres they will fit. Make sure the first number's 700 though.

That said, you appear to have managed to semi-inflate your present tube enough to be able to take a photo of it. That suggests to me that a spot of glue and a puncture patch (useful kit to carry with your bike) will sort it out.
