Alrighty, with acquisition of new bike, I need a hook (or two) to hold the top tube of me old bike on the wall in the cellar... must be horizontal, (not hanging by the wheels). Anyone know of anything, I had a search but couldn't quite find a suitable solution...

not telling you
B&q do some cheap but very strong hooks with a rubber padding on them, had mine for a good few years now. 1 holds 2 bikes in the "normal" position but off the floor.

I got a set from Halfords - a 'T' piece mounted on the wall by the base, the top or cross of the T has a hook at either end for placing the top tube of a bike on. Best of all, it swings up and clips out of the way when not in use

perfectly understandable if you don't want it like that, but just for your info bikes are actually perfectly ok hanging by their wheels - it won't 'stretch' the rim or anything.

I use the big hooks from B&Q. 2 at the front to hold the bars then one (or two) hooks under the saddle. Oh, the hooks are attachedto the garage ceiling so the bikes hang as high as possible.

Thanks all, some great looking solutions there, I'm sure one of them will do it (looks like most of them would actually!)

Sorry didn't see this. It's not a fear issue, but a space one

Dont know if you have bought anything yet but I was just in my local Asda and they are selling a pulley type rack (pulls it up to the celing) for £6.50.
