Per above, any recommendations for a good bike fit in the Leeds or West Yorks vicinity?

Online results throw up Chevin Cycles, who didn't give me great advice in their Harrogate store a couple of years ago and a couple of indy's who either aren't around or don't seem to pick up email requests / voicemails. Frustrating...

Hoping somebody here might be able to give a personal recommendation based on experience. Cheers.

Specialized in Harrogate?

They're great and we use them a lot for my OH's bike (Specialized Tricross). When I asked they said they could get me set up on my Cannondale, but parts of their fit and the program they use are specific to their bikes and I wouldn't necessarily be able to rely on the output for any future bikes either. A set of measurements / principles I can transfer to other bikes is something I'd like as I'll probably upgrade to a full road bike in the next 12 - 18 months.

Maybe look for a retul fitter? The Manchester velodrome fitters have a good rep I believe

By way of an update, I had a word with Crosstrax in North Leeds. Their usual chap John is spannering somewhere in France so not taking booings, but they recommended another guy, Matt, who has pedigree in setting up bikes for the Brownlees and British Olympic track team. So I'm booked in with him on Saturday morning. Looking forward to seeing the results!

Well, had my bike fit this morning with Matt of SnugFit Bike Fit at his house in North Leeds. Matt has some pedigree, being a notable triathlete himself, working with the British Olympic track team and regularly helping the Brownlees. Plus he's just a nice guy to boot.

Matt doesn't use any laser-guided, pinpoint PC technology, it's all done with a plumb, tape measure, photos and his eye. The total session took just under an hour.

My main problem had been reach to the hoods for braking, with bike shops advising me a shorter stem was the way to go (currently on a 100mm stem). After hopping on the turbo, Matt took regular photos and videos of me whilst tweaking my position, which he said was already pretty good. Overall though, my saddle height has increased by about a third, my handlebars have been dropped by a taking a spacer out and the saddle is a touch further forward. The net result is that I'm in a much more comfortable position over the hoods and feel like I'm really getting the most out of every pedal stroke.

I've been out for a quick 18 miles spin this afternoon and I'm pleased to report it's done the trick! I can properly reach the brakes now, control over the front end of the bike is massively improved and the whole thing feels infinitely more planted. Cornering and descending (two of my weaker riding skills) felt much more confident too.

I could've probably worked out some of the adjustments through trial and error over about a month, tweaking one thing at a time. To have everything confirmed in just under an hour and be out riding much better today is definitely a result! £60 well spent in my book.

Resurrecting an old thread - do you have the contact details for Matt at SnugFit? Google hasn't revealed anything
