My budget busting >£2k Trek has the rear wheel out of true. Should I expect this to be fixed ...by an LBS that has a workshop that houses a couple of mechanics...on the first service, which it is getting soon? I think of them as cable adjusting sessions which you can pretty much do yourself.

Surely the 6 week check is to fix any problems that have arisen if the bike has been ridden normally (as opposed to crashed), which would normally be cables but I would have thought it would include the wheel - you wouldn't expect problems in that time scale. Point it out when you take it in.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Raise it when you take it in , a wheel truing normally costs about £5 around here if they cant throw it in for free it certainly is worth spending the extra .That said they should do it !!
Get the right sized spoke key and learn to do it yourslef as you can stay on top of most wheel trueing by using your brake pads as a guide, i check mine every couple of weeks unless i can feel anything obvious .

it is my experience that this will be covered in the foc ist service unless evidence of abuse is obvious.

but point it out to them along with any other issues.
