I removed my 26' rear wheel as it was not in good condition and replaced it with a new 26' wheel but when I put the tire and tube from the old wheel on to the new wheel when I pumped it up fully the bead of the tire kept coming of the rim of the new wheel what caused this to happen was it that the tire was also worn out

I fitted a fairly new tire which done the job

^^^^^^ there are 5 or more 26" sizes, look for the ERTO number e.g. 622x ?

Be fair, the bloke has been dead for a while now.
Yes and it's good how much of his writing still stands as useful, but that one page was a confusing and out-of-date low spot before 2008 and others claim to be maintaining the site since, so someone could have looked at it by now if they were going to change it.

Apart from producing one of the most informative and reliable cycling sites on the internet, what has Sheldon Brown ever done - apart from dying?
Quite a lot really,
