Watches a documentary on TV last year about an Britishbloke who did it in i think 11 days, it was staggering how they ride 22-23 hrs a day with just a few short stops for sleep and massage, the chap i saw had to have a home made devise strapped to him with a loop to hold his chin up as his neck muscles had gone.
It's pretty extreme isn't it? There is also a great short film about a recumbent team that did the race.
And I have just remembered about the mad Slovenian the late Jure Robicwho won the race 5 times. He used to get so far into the zone that he thought he was seeing demons whilst on the bike. On one of the races he only had 8 hours sleep over 8 days of the race.
The guy at 1.42 is Chris Mcdonald. He is an American but lives and works in Denmark. He is a very quiet guy, who is now a motivational speaker. Obviously as hard as nails but very gentle and considerate with people.
