So as I get more into cycling and doing longer distances on my new roadie I'm thinking that I would like a couple of pairs of bib shorts. I currently have a tri suit and quite often find myself riding in that which I enjoy.

I am now looking for some reasonably affordable and decent quality bib shorts. Ideally I wasn't looking to spend more than £50-60 a pair but was wondering what peoples thoughts were. A brief search has resulted in finding the items below:

http://www.triuk.com/products/pearl-izumi/pearl-izumi-mens-select-attack-bib-short

Not sure what peoples opinions are on these or if cycle-clothing are a good site to buy from? Any advise or other sites to try would be appreciated.

I got a pair of Nalini from Planet X recently, nice comfy pad in them.

My tri-suit is just a standard entry level Foor suit, I may look into getting some bib shorts if they do them.

On another tac are bib shorts made for you to also be able to run in them? or are they solely for cycling and would they not hold up to jogging as well? This is purely based on training at the gym whether I would bother changing out of them when I get there.

If a correct fit, your bibs should be a little tight on the shoulders when you're stood up, which would not be comfortable to run in.

I've just received a pair of the red Aeron DHB shorts and you can see everything  through them. Will be OK under a pair of baggies but I wouldn't wear them alone, I have a pair of the more expensive DHB shorts and they're fine. Black or Blue might not be a problem.

I have a pair of the dhb Aeron Pro... they're a really good short - equivilent to others that cost a heck of a lot more. Wore them today with knee warmers on the club run actually, so that's 85 hilly miles and they performed great (wished I'd left the knee warmers at home after lunch - what a glorious day!!). Good strategic padding - not just a lump of sponge, and I like the elastic thigh gripper ends as well that a lot of the top brands are bringing out. Meshy straps that help keep you cool on the back and shoulders.
