Bib shorts: something I might want to cosnider?

I've noticed a number of people on the forum have received bib shorts for Christmas and I'm wondering what advantages they might offer me as my current shorts fit really well - they're just something I've never considered and would welcome your thoughts.

They are just so comfortable and made for the job.

They stay in place much better, don't pinch round yer belly and keep your lower back warmer. Recommended.

I find them better for not falling off your arse, especially when out of the saddle going up hill, and also more comfy round the beer belly
they are worse for taking a piss though!

I tried a pair recently, having been set in my ways with waist shorts. So much more comfy, o falling down, the pad seems to stay put better. And, an added bonus, they make the wife laugh

When I was doing only MTB I was using normal shorts. Since I started with road bikes, i found the bib shorts much more comfortable (mostly they do not fall down).

That depends how long your **** is. I don't find this a problem

I definitely agree with all of the above comments...I was quite sceptical at first but since I bought some, I'd never go back. Only thing is that I've found the quality of the pad can vary a lot between manufacturers but I guess you get that with regular cycling shorts too.
