Bianchi Via Nirone Compact to Triple

Fed up with struggling up hills I would like to change my Camp Veloce Compact chain set to a triple.I have got a Campag Triple Front Changer and Square Tapered Triple Chain Set so rather than buy a Campag U ltra Chain Set I would just like to buy a new bottom bracket but I am not sure which one to buy.Scouring the net I think I need a 111mm one but am I right in saying that you can get Asymetric and Symetric ones and if that is correct can someone tell me which one I need to buy.
I have looked on the Bianchi web site and could not find a triple so is this idea indeed even possible.

Could you not get a wider ranged cassette? Or are you at the limit already?

I don't know about the symetric bit (I'd just buy the whole sealed BB and wouldn't worry) but you will need 111mm if you have a thin seat tube or a 115 if you have an oversized seat tube as the extra difference throws the front mech a bit further out.

I believe what accountantpete said applies to relatively recent Campag square tapered chainsets that are Centaur and below. Chorus and above require 102mm for double and 111mm for triple and the associated bb's are asymmetric. For vintage Campag and chainsets from other brands other spindle length/type may be required dependent on make, model and potentially date of manufacturing.

Thanks everyone for taking the trouble to reply.I suppose like many others I have a box of bits that I have acquired over the years so today I delved down into the box and I took out a Shimano Tiagra Hollowtec Chain Set and fitted it to the bike.
I am pleased to say that it seems to do the job ok.At least on the work stand as I have got to finish it off before I ride it.

Have I just been lucky or is one of the things were Shimano and Campag are compatible.

For triple, Campag front chainlines are between 45mm to 47.5mm depending on model and seat tube diameter. The corresponding standard figures for Shimano is 45mm for road and 47.5mm or 50mm for mtb chainsets.
