Don't ask why, but, I was perusing movie quotes when I came upon some quotes from the book/film Marley and me.

I had tears rolling down my face within seconds, despite it being a few years since I saw the film/read the book. I don't think a film or book has reduced me to a quivering wreck as well as that one.

What film or book reduces you to tears. And is this a good or a bad thing?

I've not seen the lion king. Probably best avoided if it's anything like Marley and Me, which actually makes me feel distraught!
For a Disney film, Lion King is up there. I would watch it though as it is an amazing film. Long Live The King!

I agree with the top comment
"Scar is the best Disney villain.

No gloating. No elaboration of his plot. No giving the hero a sporting chance.

Just one classy line and then he throws Mufasa to the wildebeest."

is it a 'girl' thing?

My mother used to go out of her way to watch a film that would leave her in tears... films with title's like Dewdrops on the Snow, Snowdrops in the Dew, Something Fragile in a Light Unthreatening Breeze... and such like. The plot seemed non-existent, but at some point, a child always seemed to die a long slow death from leukaemia or something... never quite got head around the genre to be honest, but mum.... "Oh I like a good cry."

Million Dollar Baby directed by Clint Eastwood... excellent film, but left me absolutely balling  I won't be watching it again.

Local Hero, BTW... is a fantastic film, and I'm not a fan of Dire Striats either.

'Kes', when Billy finds out his kestrel has been killed.
Not seen the film for many years, but it was very emotional.

i once watched a film called (i think) "who will look after my children". About a woman who had an alcoholic husband and about 10 children. She was diagnosed with cancer and bcoz her husband couldn't look after them, she had to find adoptive parents for all her kids. Based on a true story too. I cried from beginning to end.
