Been using my Edinburgh Bike Co-op revolution tourer for a while now. It's a great bike but a bit on the heavy side

I'm thinking about getting a decent roadie bike ( about a grand) but it's got to have a triple.

Any suggestions?

You could try Ribble's 'build a bike', and get something OK for £1000.

there's loads to chose from around a grand, depends on your tastes.
Spesh Allez Elite will be a nice bike within the budget
In a recent C+ review the Kiron Scandium got highly rated & 10/10 That was £999 for a double though

That leaves lots and lots and lots of choice.

Do you have any other requirements to narrow it down a bit?

Lighter the better + Must be able to testdrive it so no web buying

I was thinking of trying Campag so not Shimano

I would suggest that you think a bit more about what you want - in the realms of do you want comfort or speed etc?

At the price you quote there are so many bikes of different characteristics that you should take care not to end up buying something for its looks and find it unsuitable for your needs!!

This is pretty spot on, I have just bought a bike with that exact budget and to be honest it took me months! everyone likesdifferent things and everyones body/geometry needs are slightly different. There are some great bikes out there for 1k and IMO there are all very similar in quality and spec, its just as much about the LBS you buy from that will be the ones setting up the bike for you and giving you the supprt you need to make the right decision.

Pesonally I ended up with an Allez Elite and think its Frickin Awesome! a close second was the Trek 1.7 and Cannondale Caad9/Six closely behind, I am glad i do sooo much research though, but beware, the more you look the more choice there is!

Good Luck.
