Hi,

Who are the best insurance companies in terms of getting your bike replaced etc problem free?

Are Butterworth or ETA any good?

Thanks,

I was very close to going with ETA their price and policy sounds very good compared to others but my household insurance company being direct line gave me it cheaper, but after looking around ETA seemed very good in my opinion

I cant comment on their claim procedure as Ive not obviously processed one but I think they even loan you a bike whilst its being processed ?.

I'm with the ETA, but never claimed. And don't want to either. But not because of ETA, though.

Sorry - that wasn't much help was it?

I am uncertain on their policy regarding folders.

Part of the reason I bought the Brompton is because I cannot be bothered lugging a huge lock around, yet they insist that an expensive lock is used at all times.

On train I just use an overpriced £12 impulse buy from Evans, if at all, other than that I see no reason to lock it up when it is normally ridden, indoors, or safely by my side.

ETA only need the expensive lock if your bike is worth £500 or more and only when the bike is unattended. The reason they give discount on folding bikes is because the bike bikes fold up and are easy to carry around with you they are less likely to get stolen. I think they generally have the best policy at the best price.
