Best - Cheapest - GPS cycling computer

Hi all,

First post, so go easy on me..... I have no doubt that this has been asked before... which is the best, but cheapest cycling GPS computer... or is there any other options that I should look at?

What do you want it to do? The cheapest option is to use a smart phone with an external battery pack.

New, probably looking at £100+ for basic functionality like a garmin 200, can get cheaper on fleabay

Yes. Can be uploaded to garmin connect/strava/ridewithgps/training peaks/golden cheetah after. You can also plan very basic routes and follow via breadcrumb trail. 500/510 do this also - 800/810 offer full routable mapping,postcode searched/ POI's

Yes you can. You can upload to the Garmin Connect website to analyse to your hearts content.

If all you want to do is log your ride then you don't even need an external battery. I use an app called bike computer (android) to log my ride and it lasts for hours as you're not using the screen. When I'm finished, I export the data as a .gpx file and upload it to Strava. Job done.

Android phone using endomondo, battery lasts 7 hours as long as your not texting or phoning in that time:thumbsup:

Is the recording, and that implies review, of cadence and/or heart rate data important to you?
