Best bet for a cheap turbo trainer?

My daughter would like a turbo trainer for her birthday.

I've had a look on eBay but it seems a minefield and I have no idea where to start.

Am I best looking for a new/ used one on there or second hand on these forums where I feel I can trust people more.

Any makes that people can recommend as well would be great.

It's to fit bikes with 26" and 700 sized wheels so not sure if I would need adaptors?

I can't really compare it to anything but I went for a Tacx as they had a good name and it was on offer ;-)
The turbo came with a skewer for 700 wheels but also an adapter for 26"
