Bent Shimano Sora Gear Shifter!!!

On a recent cycle to Paris I was involved in a crash whereby i fell to the side. Both of my gear shifters on my Specialized Secteur bike bent inwards, the right more than the left. We managed to bend them slightly inwards so they were at an angle possible to carry on. They are still at an angle though. After looking through the internet it appears that the gear shifters themselves are designed to bend on impact to avoid damage to the handlebars or the stem. Does anyone know a) how this can be fixed or b) how much it might cost to get fixed in an Evans or Cycleworks shop. I do have insurance but they are playing up over how I have to get the bike transported at my own cost, which would probably cost more and be more hassle than bringing it down to the local bike shop.

Any feedback is appreciated, thanks .

The actual shifting leavers are bent...both inwards? It's not just the at shifter units as a whole have been knocked inwards?

Apologies for the simple question, just want to be clear ^_^

I think, like Herzog above that the shifters may have been knocked inwards by the force of the accident you had. You could try the old trusty method of trying to knock them back in line with the palm of your hand whilst holding the handle bar with the other hand. Should you not want to try that, you will have to slacken the brake and gear cables for each lever so that you can lift the lever to reveal the clamp nut. Then slacken the nut, move the levers and then tighten.
You will then have to tighten the cables, adjust the tension for the gears and brakes. Should you feel that this is too much faffing about, pop along to your local bike shop and have a chat. If they are not busy they may do it while you wait.
