Hey guys,

I've just decided to start my very first Blog. Never done them before so am interested to see how they are done.

So...I've decided that since I've JUST started biking I'd blog about that! All my experiences will be on there, narratives on my rides of interest and mistakes, stuff I've learned etc etc. may be completely boring but it *may* be interesting to others who are in a similar position to see what other learners are up to

Take a look if ya interested, I'm currently putting in (retrospectively) my first few rides.

the link is http://bikevirgin.blogspot.com/

Cheers

Very good. Your comments section might need a bit of tweaking though.

"Somehow I still managed to sail past a group of MTBs making the climb look like hard work. They were very upset at having a 'road bike' pass them. Unfortunately my gloating didn't last very long. On the first decent I went a bit too quickly into a corner. The bike started to judder under braking then I went straight over the bars. I was still in the process of picking myself back up when the group past me."

sorry to pick up on this but off road ability IS why mtbs were invented.

'Tweaking'? why what's wrong with it? As I say, I'm new to it so if you can let me know what the problem is and I'll go and play with it!

Redbike - How did you get those maps on your blog!? Could be useful!!

Cheers

You can't comment on it without signing in to some faff. This is unlike other blogs on the same system and certainly not like other blogging sites. Not that comments are that important.

You should of left me a comment on my blog (I haven't got the one so far )

The ride was about 18miles road/ 2 miles off road. I don't think I would of been back before dark if I had used the MTB.

I don't get out on the MTB as often as I would like. Hopefully I will get to give it a blast around the peaks next weekend though.

yeah, do! it's great conditions there at the moment 'cos although it's cold it's been dry, touch wood. all the mud's frozen hard, but not sheet ice frozen, just 'hard earth' frozen. there are ice patches here and there but not that proliferous, was warm today though so most of it should have melted.
i'm making the most of it...

Good to see another bikeblog. Now you are on the "content" tradmill:smile:

I'm afraid however, in my opinion, the background makes it completely unreadable. Simple is better. Avoid flashy, or in this case ... spotty.
