Hi guys,
Been cycling 4 weeks now and are looking for easy cycling routes in the West Lothian area
Have done mostly canal routes to date and are looking for something similar
Hope you can help

The cyclepath west along the railway line to Caldercruix or Plains should be a nice gentle ride (provided it is actually fully open these days). You can head back via Limerigg/Avonbridge, which does involve some climbing. Or head up from Plains to the Black Hill transmitter. It's a nice "starter" climb, with plenty sections to relax, and a nice view from the top as a reward.

Sounds great as dont live far away from there cheers.
Done broxborn to ratho yesterday, was great adventurous track with a couple of tricky bits but plan to go on to Edinburgh next time
Any other tracks would be greatly accepted
Thanks again

The only other major off road network that comes to mind is the Helix area in Falkirk. You have a fairly decent amount of hillyness to get there, though.

Otherwise you're probably in mountain bike territory. I think there might be some tracks up at beecraigs. Also possibly some options around the pentlands.

Try and get hold of the "Spokes" map for West Lothian. Link. Great maps for showing on and off road routes. They also do them for Edinburgh, Mid Lothian, East Lothian, and Glasgow. IIRC they sell them in the bike shop on West Calder main street (can't remember the shop name).
