I just went for a ride to loosen my muscles after my off the other day. Still sore as hell in my elbows and knees, shoulder is stiff but my pinky feels better. Anyway....

I left my home and went down through Haydock, up past carmill dam, up billinge hill and then down through garswood and ashton before returning home. A round trip of 13 miles that involves a good climb up billinge hill. It did nothing but rain the entire ride but I still managed to average a time of 15mph and returned home feeling like I could have done 10 miles more.

I am quite surprised how well I am doing considering I've only been at this for 3 weeks now. Really enjoying myself! :bicycle:

It continues to get easier (At least I hope it does ^_^ )
I remember worrying about riding 2.6 miles to my gym and back which is weird as I normally run 7Km when I get there.
I notice that I dont think about the ride so much as enjoying the journey and I find strava a great motivator.

Well done. It does get easier. I could never have imagined doing 20 miles. Now i do a 40 mile round trip commute 3 times a week with fitness rides on the weekends
