Depends what you do on a bike - race? tour? potter?

Not sure what London Cycling is, but BC is more geared to racing (although I am sure they would disagree), CTC more touring/general pottering.

LCC has a £1m maximum liability compared to £10m for CTC and BC.

I agree with SimonC that BC is oriented more towards racing, but they do have this (newish) Everyday Cycling insurance cover for people who don't want the licence etc.

As it looks like you are looking at road bikes, plus it looks like you are a student, I'm going to suggest British Cycling.

Ok thanks very much.

I joined CTC primarily because of the FNRttC; I had previously been an LCC member. As a bonus, their freebie magazine is light-years ahead of the LCC one.

The LCC t-shirt is good, though. I still wear it even though I'm not a member any longer.
