Ich bin Powerfrau!
At last! When they changed it in February they ruined it and I went over to the Met Office forecast. This is MUCH better!

Certainly better than it was. I still prefer the met office's rainfall radar though, which is generally only half an hour or so behind real time and which also allows you to play the recent rainfall as an animation so you get an idea of direction and speed of travel. It uses colour coding to indicate severity of the rain too. Has enabled me to avoid downpours on many occasions.

It might look good but is it any more accurate? I've lost count of the number of times it has been predicting zero rain while I gaze at the downpour through the window.

Always a hoot, isn't it? I've arrived home dripping with 'dry' on several occasions.

The biggest problem with the met office one is working our where you are on the map - the general UK map has the best radar and graphics but few place names; the local map has more place names but poorer graphics IMO.

I always use this site for up to date rainfall radar. It updates every 15 minutes, you can zoom in to the area you're looking for and it's pretty reliable most of the time.

I bookmarked that one when someone put it on here a while ago, and the memorable question was asked... can you drag and drop?

If you have a bit of money, you can buy a subscription to the netweather rainfall radar. It updates every 5 minutes, but is delayed by about 7-10 minutes. It also has a higher resolution, and you can "smooth" the image.
It was helpful during summer to track the 1 thunderstorm I had. It also predicts the rain about 30 minutes into the future.

www.netweather.tv if anyone is interested. It is like £3.50 per month, or around £20 for the year.

(I am in no way affiliated with the website, just a past customer)

Oops! Didn't notice that you beat me to it!

I'm not impressed. Apparently Caernafon is in Anglesy and Bangor is in Conwy. Like duh! Bangor is in Gwynedd as is Caernarfon.
