BBC missed an opportunity there

Well, I know most of you have seen the BBC News article but I think BBC missed a trick!

With such a eye catching title it was obviously going to attract a lot of views, it would have been an excellent opportunity to educate not only drivers but also cyclists and pedestrians!

After reading most of the posts by people, it seems like people haven't learned a thing.

The amount of arrogance, ignorance and down right hatred is extraordinary.

As a car driver, motorcyclist and cyclist I think i have a good view of life on the roads and it's about time the governemnt or DVLA or someone should teach people!

Saw the BBC Report on Cycling....The Motoring Journalist was a total PRAT...Never took on board what was actually being said.He was arrogant and totally didn't have a clue about cycling whatsoever. In saying that a few miles on a Bike would do him a world of good.He took the point of view from a Driver only, but what did you expect???We are all Car drivers too,we can see both sides of this topic, non cyclists will not, that's why we have this problem. In saying that there is a lot of good drivers around,we can't tar them all with the same brush. But!!!! no .hopers like that Motoring Journalist will not help the situation. These people have got to realise that Cyclists are human too.

+1 - incredibly depressing - same old 'road tax', 'red light jumping', 'riding on the pavement' comments over and over. Sad, sad, sad.

I agree that they should have made more of a point about the rights of cyclists and at least tried to dispel the "road tax myth". Having read through the first few pages of comments there seems to be a large amount of rants by drivers with the usual drivel about red lights, pavement cycling and insurance/tax etc. One of readers even criticised the cyclist in the video by saying he rode in the middle of the road and undertook the van at the corner!!!
