Bb30 confusion.

Hi!

I manageged to get hold of a cheap fsa K force crank, which is a BB30.

I was working under the assumption that my carbon cube - which has a "press fit BB" would be compatable. Currently it has a sm-bb91-41 BB installed.

My question is...,if I remove the sm-bb91-41 BB will I be able to fit a BB30 BB to be able to use my new crank?

A quick scan of your other posts suggests that both your current bikes have Shimano chainsets, is that right?

The Shimano press fit BB is not compatible with BB30. BB30 is it's own animal, and IMO best avoided. Google BB30 creaking to see what I mean.

I'm sure many are using BB30 and having no problems, but IME BB30 is the answer to a problem that never existed and caused more problems than it answered anyway.

As you got the FSA for cheap my advice would be sell it on, you might even make a few quid in the process.

Or if your adamant to find out for yourself what BB30 is like then you will need to replace your Shimano cups with BB30 bearings to be able to fit the FSA chainset.
