I suspect the BB needs replacing on my road bike, and was wondering what the recommended torque would be for tightening up the 2 sides? It's a Specialized Roubaix Expert SL4 road bike, with standard HT-II BB. There's no sticker on the bike at this spot with recommended torque.

Thanks,

--- Victor.

Same as you would for a steel or aluminium frame. Do it till it feels tight enough.

Thanks, I was wondering if I'd get a reply . I had also assumed what you said, but just wanted to be certain, as this is the first parts replacement for my road bike (still relatively new).

Shimano has all its tech documents on line. They are easy enough to find.

From memory google shimano, click first link, cycling, road bike then select the groupset level you have.
Thanks, mate . I did notice this web page while doing my search:

It introduces you to Shimano Hallowtech technology - they really do have a high opinion of their product, don't they?

This link describes the torque, but 35-50Nm seems pretty tight! I'm wondering if this is intended for alloy instead of carbon frames?
