Bath area...Frome, Radstock..etc...

Hey guys / girls,

I was just wondering if any of you are from around the Bath area? I'm going to start getting my bike out again, and wondered if anyone fancied some rides?

I'm not too worried by speed or distance, i'm just getting back into it after having the whole winter off. I'm only 20...and play football 4 times a week so i'm reasonably fit but missing the bike..so if anyone fancies it, feel free to reply

well I am just down the road (or should that be Rode) from you, and am getting myself ready for a few long rides.
I do a loop out the back road to Longleat, down onto the A36 and out to Knook, and then back through Warminster most Sundays, although it is only 25 miles and takes me about 1hr 25 (darned hills).
That said I am wanting to push that out to 50 milers now so that come June my legs are prepared for the 350 miles over 3 days I am doing.

I guess dependant on your footy (ie if you are playing local Sunday league with morning kick offs) it might not be of interest to you... add to that I am a relative old fart at 37!

I do indeed play Sunday Morning football...but as it's getting much llighter out...I can make Sunday afternoon rides, if possible for you. I'm around in the evenings too if you ever cycle after work etc...old man

I'll try my best it will probably be the other way around, only used mine once over the winter period!

yeah but to be fair it was a shocking period mate, cold, rain, sleet, snow ice... not very inspirational. I just resigned myself with the odd night trip out to Rudge for a beer and most of that was on the mountain bike.

have you had anything to do with any local cycling club/group? I had half a mind to try it out, but didnt know how open or clique it might be.

I thought about it...but they do rides on Sunday morning..so i'd only be able to make it during the summer! I may try go to a few of their rides after the football season
