Bar Tape Recommendations

Hi All,

I have an old Carrera Corsa 14 bicycle and the original bar tape is still intact but looking a little beat at this stage!!

I would like to replace the bar tape to freshen things up - replace with white in colour bar tape and while I am at it replace the brake cables with white ones too.
Looking for recommendations around a good quality bar tape that will look the part on this bicycle please if people could please post some recommendations?

Just a warning - white bar tape gets dirty very easily. It's a never-ending task keeping it clean. You might want to consider other colours that might be easier to care for.

Regarding quality, I've bought Cinelli tape the past couple of times and am happy with it. Although I've bought other brands in the past, and been happy with them too.

My go to is Cinelli Cork Gel tape, always black!

Cinelli Cork tape in orange is my current tape and lasting well. I’ve also used tape from Fizik which did the job.

Likewise, Cinelli gel and black. I have had white in the past but virtually impossible to keep clean. Black goes with everything !

I have red/back camo at the moment. It goes well with the colour scheme of my bike (black frame + red details and accessories) and I can put a big oily paw onto it and it doesn't need a clean.

I have some pale leather Brooks tape currently, which I bought on sale somewhere. It IS a bit Guy Ritchie - I’m kind of cringing at myself. But I shan’t be cycling to the shoot in a Barbour any time soon, and it’s lasting well and I like the feel of it, so it’s staying for now.

If you only have one Cinelli bit on your bike, bar tape is a good place to start.

I'm using the Cinelli Cork stuff on my commuter/ winter bike and Fizik soft bondcush stuff on my good bike. My gravel bike also came with Fizik stuff I think its the hard leather version of the boncush stuff. My previous Gravel Bike came with Oval Concept stuff which still seemed good after 7,000miles but I cant see it for sale.

I can get bother with my hands, they can be a bit arthritic, I do better with the larger dia spongy'er bar - i would like it a little bigger if anything
